I think beauty in photography can be whatever you want it to be, if beauty is in the eye of the beholder then ugliness must be too. Everybody has different standards and preferences of what is or isn't beautiful or ugly to them. There is beauty in ugly photographs because there can be truth in ugliness and authenticity is beautiful. Grotesque can be gorgeous, and gorgeous can be grotesque. Models for exampel are ugly in my opiniun not because they are litteraly ugly, but because the photographs of them are so fake and posed and painfully thought out that all the potential flow of the photograph has been taken out. And most of the time photos like this are taked to shame people into thinking they are ugly and want to buy a product that the model is selling.

I think this picture is beautiful even though vougue may not have it in their magasine, it still depicts something human and beatiful.
